Arts of Brazil Summer Camp – More than just Martial Arts!

Our summer camp, Arts of Brazil  aims to provide kids ages 6-12 a fun and educational experience during their summer break. Located at Brazilian Michigan Cultural Center ,our camp offers a wide range of activities, including  outdoor adventures, arts and crafts, team-building exercises, Capoeira and Brazilian music, Campers will learn how to play Capoeira, an Afro-Brazilian art form that is a beautiful harmony between dance, flexibility, acrobatics, cooperation, and music. Our dedicated team of experienced and trained staff will ensure the safety and well-being of all campers. By focusing on fostering personal growth, building confidence, and encouraging teamwork, Arts of Brazil will create lasting memories for children while offering peace of mind to their parents.

The experience is enriched by the Brazilian Portuguese language immersion and friendly group atmosphere. This camp requires no prior experience. Arts of Brazil is taught by Mestre Lobinho of The Brazilian Michigan Cultural Center.

We are now accepting new Summer Camp students! (Ages 6-12)
If you are a parent who wants your child to have tons of FUN, and to stay healthy and active, then keep reading about how you can save your child's spot in the Arts of Brazil Summer Camp.

We will also create a WhatsApp group for the Parents/Guardians of each child to get daily photos and updates.

What will my child learn and experience during camp?

Your child will learn the basics of Capoeira including movements such as kicks, dodges, handstands, cartwheels, acrobatics, and more. They will also learn about Brazilian cultural music - basic rhythmic patterns used in Capoeira, Samba, drumming, other instrument playing, and songs in Portuguese.

In addition, your child will develop confidence and interpersonal skills. We are passionate about community, teamwork, communication, and empowering our students to use their words and body language to communicate their needs and wants.

What if my child already trains Capoeira?

This camp is for regular Capoeira students too! We rely on games during camp to appeal to all levels and develop skills wherever your child is in their Capoeira journey. We also get more time to develop those interpersonal social skills that many times do not fully fit into a one-hour class. Students form lasting bonds at camp because there is space and time to give attention to important relationships!

Will food be provided at camp?

WE DO NOT PROVIDE FOOD. Please have your child bring lunch, snacks (we will have 2 snack breaks), and a labeled water bottle. A water bottle refill station is available.

Our Summer Camp is committed to your child’s success in school, sports, and in life!

Each week your child will have the opportunity to participate in an exciting variety of indoor and outdoor activities, educational lessons, arts and crafts, and much more!

Weather permitting we will walk to the nearby pool (entrance fee is included in the camp price).
