I have never done martial arts or dance, can I still participate?

Yes. No experience is necessary and you do not need to be in a certain shape to take part in our classes. There are new beginners joining everyday and many ask themselves the same question: “Why didn’t I join this earlier?!”. If you have never done any form of exercise or have health concerns, we highly recommend to consult your physician prior to taking part in any physical activity.

How can I prepare for my first class?

It’s important you arrive early (minimum 15 minutes) to familiarize yourself with our Academy and instructors and fill out a waiver form. You may also want to try following along one of our videos here to get bit of a head start on your first class

Capoeira is a great way to stay active and creative. It will give your body physical strength, and flexibility and empower you to be creative. Capoeira is a colorful form of cultural expression in addition to a powerful form of self-defense.

In our Adult Class, instructors teach the basic martial arts and dance moves, as well as musical elements and basic acrobatics. Everything you need to get moving into a more advanced level or just enough to follow along in the class, you will get in the Intro. How far you go is completely up to you. You can progress to the intermediate/advanced classes or just follow along for the workout and the great energy you’ll feel.

Capoeira provides cardiovascular strength, and flexibility training, all of which are essential for overall health. When training capoeira you will use muscle groups that you may never have trained before so after training for the first time you can expect to be sore.
